Px20 Alcohol Awareness Month Events
April is Alcohol Awareness Month and Px20 has a lot of events running to support this important initiative:
- April 3rd – Project Sticker Shock Kick Off event – Faith Methodist Church (a partner in the Lancaster/Depew Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition—located at 5505 Broadway, Lancaster, NY 14086.
- “Don’t go to church, be the church.” Reverend Tom LeBeau stated, “our service to God will be serving our community on April 3rd by ‘stickering’ at the local TOPS Market.”
- April 5th – Parent Awareness Forum – Williamsville North High School
- April 5th- Launch of Erie County Sheriff’s Office Underage Drinking Campaign “Party with Kids…Pay the Price” and “One Too Many” national campaign.
- April 12th – National Speaker John Rosemond parent education seminars.
- One of America’s leading speakers in the field of parenting. This presentation will be filled with humor, factual information and practical advice. These two essential parenting ingredients will strengthen children emotionally and help them grow into responsible, compassionate citizens.

- April 12th through June 14th – Strengthening Families Parent Support Group.
- Apply those parenting tools! Strengthening Families Program Parent Support Group will meet April 12th through June 14th each Tuesday from 10:30am until 12:30pm. These “parents only” sessions will provide the SFP curriculum topics and discussion. Childcare will be provided for those under pre-school age if needed.

- April 13th – Teen Intervene, ECCPASA professional training
- Teen Intervene is an evidence-based program for teenagers twelve to nineteen years old who are suspected of experiencing mild or moderate problems associated with alcohol or other drug use. The program integrates stages of change theory, motivational interviewing, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. This program is an interactive learning experience meant for teachers, school counselors, social workers, psychologists and other youth-serving professionals.
