Parent Awareness Forums
Parent Awareness Forums are a primary tool used by Px20 member agencies to address underage drinking in our communities. These forums, which run approximately 1 hour, are focused on parents and guardians of young people and provide detailed information about underage drinking laws, how alcohol affects the teenage brain, warning signs of abuse, as well as detailed steps parents and guardians can take to help young people avoid underage drinking and the many serious problems that result.
Often, these forums are mandated by schools for youth participation in school-related activities such as athletic teams, clubs, and proms. However, Parent Awareness Forums are not restricted to schools and can be adapted and implemented in a wide variety of settings in order to have our message reach the largest possible audience of parents and guardians.
You can find additional information about the content of the Parent Awareness Forums by taking a look at the Handbook.
